Rooted in Nature, Built on Connection

A waterfront retreat where connection comes easy and time slows down.

Laguna Lodge is a one-of-a-kind riverfront escape, ideal for groups of up to 40 guests. Over the years, we’ve hosted families, fishing crews, car clubs, golfing groups, and sports teams, many of whom return the same time each year.

Our property offers the best of both worlds: space to gather, and space to retreat. Enjoy shared moments on the large riverside deck or unwind in your own private, two-bedroom self-contained unit.

Life here flows around the water, fish from the jetty, paddleboard at sunrise, or watch the day fade with a drink in hand.

We offer:

  • Six waterfront units with full kitchens, air-con & uninterrupted inlet views

  • Two luxury poolside units with high ceilings and modern open-plan living

  • A solar-heated pool, private jetty, and covered BBQ area

  • Direct access to the bike path and a short walk to Sussex Inlet village

Sussex Inlet is a coastal haven with cafés, clubs, a picture theatre, golf course, boutiques, breweries, and the famous Ocean & Earth Factory Store.

Whether you’re escaping the city, exploring the coast, or gathering with loved ones, Laguna Lodge invites you to slow down, stay longer, and reconnect with what matters most.

Meet the Family Behind Laguna Lodge

In 2013, Gaven and Tracy, along with their three sons, Bailey, Taj, and Jordan, and their loyal dogs Maggie and Buddy made the sea change from Wollongong to the coastal township of Sussex Inlet. With open hearts and a leap of faith, they became the proud new resident owners of Laguna Lodge.

Gaven brought his skills as a builder, while Tracy brought her deep care for others, having worked as a Teacher’s Aide and as the founder of Angels for Autism, an initiative supporting students with additional needs. Her passion for inclusion, nurture, and holistic wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do.

As a family, they value connection, natural living, and a slower, more intentional pace of life. Their approach to hospitality is grounded in warmth, connection and a belief in the benefits of holistic health, from spending time in nature to embracing simple, nourishing practices.

Over the years, their boys have grown, but the family spirit remains strong. Whether helping with maintenance, welcoming guests, or lending a hand behind the scenes, this is still a hands-on, family-run business where everyone contributes.

You’ll often find Gaven and Tracy out on the grounds, keeping the gardens tidy, chatting with guests, or making sure everything flows smoothly. They’ve created more than just a place to stay, they’ve built a sanctuary where people feel seen, welcomed, and restored. Many guests return year after year, not just for the view, but for the connection. Laguna Lodge is an invitation to be a part of the story and find a sense of belonging in a home away from home.
